This Chicks and Dolls fundraiser was a blast. As was the Femme Fatality bout and afterparty the next day. Unfortunately, at practice on Monday night, I did a number on my tailbone and will be unable to play in our first game against the Death Track Dolls next Tuesday. They are our sister team, so I’m really upset that I can’t play. I’m waiting on the x-ray results, but either way, the doctor said I have to wait a minimum of six weeks before skating again. That simply isn’t going to happen. There is no way I’m not skating in our first public bout against the Bay Street Bruisers on July 14.
The ToRD is getting even more coverage. Monday morning had us on Breakfast Television (link goes to their blog post about us), and the same evening, we were on CBC Sports. I haven’t found the videos online yet, but will post links when I do.
In other news, things are ok. I’m nervously approaching the end of school without knowing where I’m going to do my internship. After a lot of thought, I’ve decided that I would like to merge my love of motorcycles with my work, and am hoping to work my way into the powersports division of Honda, Yamaha or Suzuki, or perhaps one of the big Canadian motorcycle magazines. We’ll see what happens.
