March break is over. It’s a little sad but frankly, after a more than stressful weekend both at home and at work, I’m happy to get back to school and get on with it. Waking up this morning was another story, though. With the time changing on Saturday, I went to bed exceptionally late and slept through most of Sunday so getting up this morning was a chore. It was still very dark outside, which I really don’t like. But then again, I don’t know anybody who does.
My assigned team did our presentation today in Canadian Business Practices class. I think it went quite well. Our assignment was to present a seminar on something in the tenth chapter of Canadian Business Essentials. We chose to do ours on how marketing affects comsumer behaviour and targeted our case study towards the tween market. I think we presented a well thought out overview of the subject and we even did a little skit involving three of us playing impressionable young girls and one sleazy “Marketor” (insert evil laugh here). I think it went really well; at least, I hope so because it’s worth 20% of our mark in the class!
It’s a busy week at school. I have an assignment due in PR Writing and an exam in Media Relations. I feel fairly confident about the Media Relations test since I have done some of this stuff for work before, have read the text thouroughly and done well on the assignments. I feel similarly with the PR Writing so that’s really good. Let’s hope I do as well as I think I can! I also got a fun assignment in Canadian Business Practices. Together with two of my classmates, I have to come up with a marketing campaign for any company I want. Of course, we’ve chosen Tomos, a moped manufacturer. I think our angle on it is good and we can create a successful campaign. Not that it would be used, but I bet if they did use it, their sales and awareness would increase tenfold.
Something that made me happy today? The snow has almost gone. That can only mean one thing: moped, moped, moped. Oh, maybe two things. Moped, moped, motorcycle, moped, motorcycle, moped. I got the moped insurance renewed last week, am picking up new license plates tomorrow or Wednesday, and as soon as Stan and I get the big Honda running, I’ll insure and plate that. Yay! Although I’m a little nervous about my bad knee after being hit by a car last August, I’m so happy at the prospect of getting back on two wheels!
But enough about me. Here’s the news:
Finnish member of parliament spreads his political message in Klingon.
Europe’s first chain of brothels goes public. I really wish North America would take a lesson from the Europeans, legalize sex work and protect everyone, but that’s another story.
At first, I thought this concept of attending funerals online was insane. Then I thought about it some more, realized I would have rather done this than missed my father’s funeral (which I did because I’m so far away from the family) and now I’m fairly sold on it. It’s obviously not the ideal way to attend someone’s funeral, but it’s a lot better than not being there at all.
What’s the first thing you should do when your meth lab blows up? Drive to Wal Mart, of course!
Duh. And there you have it. I’m off to study. Good night.
Cool blog you have here! I have been reading it for about the last 30 minutes or so, but I’ll be back later! Consider yourself bookmarked!
well, welcome and thanks very much!
