I haven’t been posting much about roller derby lately, but that’s only because I’ve been so busy with it! We had our first public bout on Saturday, and it was a huge success. The Gore Gore Girls vs. The Death Track Dolls was so much fun and generated a ton of media coverage. We even took over the sports section of the Toronto Sun today. Check it out!
I’m quoted in this article by Chicks Ahoy! jammer and CTV journalist Saira Peesker aka Candy Crossbones. And there’s a mention of my team’s fundraising party that myself and Mistress Nightmare organized for June 15 in this Toronto Star article. Clearly we’re becoming superstars!
Anyone reading this in Toronto, please come on out in support of the Death Track Dolls and Chicks Ahoy! and party with us at Chicks and Dolls. We have killer bands and tons of good prizes to give away.
I have a busy week ahead of me. Lots of things going on at school, which I am slowly getting back into the swing of – although I am procrastinating on writing a communications plan right now by writing this -and lots of motorcycle and derby related activities.
This weekend includes going up to Mosport with a couple of the girls to watch the Super Moto racing and then next Tuesday I’m taking a trail riding course on dirt bikes. I’ve been eyeing a few models because I want to buy a dual sport, so this is my chance to try them out instead of just window shopping.
Now, because I know you’ve missed my news posts, here is today’s weird and wacky news:
No sex please – we’re on strike.
As stressed as I get, I’ve never wanted out of work this badly.
Has Nessie been captured? (with video)
On a more serious note, a way to further understand the conflicts of today, an interesting article from the BBC on how 1967 defined the Middle East.
I can’t wait to check all this out, but I have Libby coming inot town at any minute. She rode her moped from Pennsylvania clear out here.
