It’s been a long time since I’ve made a blog post. Over a year. So much has changed since then. I’ve graduated from my post-grad program, quit playing roller derby, gotten myself into a serious relationship, changed jobs and moved house. So I’ve been kind of busy, you see?

I’ve also been really slacking on my writing. I’ve always written a lot. Things float around in my head and end up on bits of paper fluttering around the house. Occasionally I write them down on the computer, send them off and collect a paycheque. I always wanted to be a freelance writer. I went to school for English, I returned for Journalism, and I returned again for communications. Yet I’ve never had the time or stability to really concentrate on making it a priority. I’m still not going to make it a priority, my new job as an Artist Rep at Indie Pool is my priority, but I would like to stop the creative juices from turning to sludge. 

So that means I’m back. This blog is back. But with a bit of a twist. I’m going to stop writing so much about my personal life, and concentrate more on music reviews. That’s always been my favourite thing to write about and I miss doing it. Hopefully some folks will stumble across here and find some interesting new music. There is a wealth of talent out there right now, and although I don’t fall into the category of artist, I pay attention to the scene. I go to shows. I listen to music. I read the news. So my goal here is to provide some interesting reading for music nerds like myself. My mind and ears are open. Input is welcome.
