Marks are in!

Day two, only nine weeks to go until the end of Semester One. I got a bunch of work back today, some I am happy with the results, some I am not. I wrote an analysis of our latest guest speaker in my Media Relations class a couple of weeks ago and received it back with a less than satisfactory mark on it today. Then I had a huge test, but I think I did fairly well on the test. Things started looking up in graphics class. I’ve never had any experience with graphic design before but got my big project (worth 20%, I think) back with an A on it! When I figure out how to turn a Quark file into a .jpg, I’ll post the poster and tickets I made. I did it for an imaginary moped rally so I’m hanging on to it in case the RCMP does throw one. Later on in class, I finished my current assignment and got an A on that. I also got one for a news release I did for my PR Writing class. So all in all it was a good day, although very full. I passed out on my couch for two full hours when I got home.

I’ve been scheming again. I don’t know what possessed me to check out the Air Transat website last night, but I did, and of course they are having a flight sale during the break between semesters. I could go to Ireland for the week for under $500. So I keep telling myself I have to wait, but in all actuality, I’m probably going to go. I figure I will have worked very hard and will be deserving of the break. I’d also like to go and check out some companies in Dublin. If I could meet with some people, I’d have a better idea of what I should be striving for when I’m finished school. Not that I’m trying to justify a trip or anything. Heh heh. But seriously, I think it would be beneficial.

Miranda might want to come with me so that would be a lot of fun. She’s never been to Ireland so I thought we could spend the first two or three days in Dublin, fly to Knock and stay at my aunt’s house for the duration and then come home. It would give me an opportunity to go and explore the scenery yet again and do the touristy things like drive around Achill Island, climb Croagh Patrick, go to Westport and all the other fun stuff there is to do in the west of Ireland.

Perhaps this is all wishful thinking, but I think it’s possible. Not necessarily financially responsible, but possible.

Now. The news:

Borat DVD selling like hotcakes in Kazakhstan.
Lazy Catholics confess online. I’m pretty sure this isn’t the way confessions are supposed to go.
Faceless presidential coin slips out of U.S. Mint.
Hahahaha. Wrong number!
Why don’t we clean Toronto after Bush visits here? Iximche Mayans have the right idea, if you ask me.
For just $27 yearly, I could offset my flatulent dog’s carbon emissions!
Giant abyss swallowing homes in Guatemala City. This is crazy. Look at this picture!
