Well, it has been some time since I’ve updated. Sorry, Deezy! Things have been pretty wacky around here since I got back from Europe. I had a wonderful time over there and am somewhat suffering the post vacation depression. I’ve also been deathly ill. Well, perhaps not deathly ill, but I had strep throat, which was awful and made me miss a bunch of school. I’m better now but having a really hard time getting back into the swing of things.
I never updated on my vacation. Germany was beautiful. We flew into Frankfurt and spent the first couple of days exploring. The city is so clean and it smells of fresh lilacs.
From Frankfurt we went to Heidelberg, which is just the most adorable city I’ve ever been to. It’s like a novel. You go up the hill to the old castle and look down upon the most picturesque town in the world. Of course, as is my luck, there was a French festival going on so while we were looking for good German food and beer, there were people dressed as medival French walking around. We did manage to find a wonderful little bar, however, and sample the local beers.
After Heldelberg, we took a cruise along the Rhine to Koblenz and then a train to Cologne. The cruise was incredible. There was a warm breeze the entire time and I felt as though I was back in time and a million miles away from anything that mattered.
After a few days in Cologne, we flew to Dublin and drove across Ireland to see my Aunt Jane. It was lovely. It always is. As much as I loathe leaving Ireland, it was the perfect relaxing end to a somewhat hectic vacation. I’ll be posting more photos on my photoblog, or if you find me on Facebook, there are about a million pictures up there.

Now for the bad news. My landlord phoned me early yesterday morning. He’s selling my house. Those of you who know me well know that I adore my house. I’ve put a lot of work into it over the last two years, probably substantially increasing his property value, and so you’ll realize that I’m heartbroken over this. It isn’t listed yet, and he did say he would try to sell it with us as the tenants included, but I hate this feeling of not knowing what’s going to happen.
Ever since I moved in here, I’ve said I would live here until I either left the country or bought my own property. Sadly, it looks as if I may have to move sooner than that. I hate moving. It’s impossible to find a decent place with a giant dog, and she is old and I don’t want to put her through a move. There’s also no way I’ll find somewhere this big for this price, and I don’t know what I’ll do with all my bikes. So keep your fingers crossed for me folks, I really need some luck right now!
News to come later. I need a nap.
Good to here you are better. I was wondering….
Nice pics! Moving DOES suck! If I had to move it’d take me a year to move it all. I piled myself into a corner.
