As everyone already knows, Toronto has finally acquired its very own football club. Since I grew up in England a fan of Manchester United and am a big football fan, I’ve been waiting anxiously for the day when I can proudly go to BMO Field and support my home team. That day is coming soon; it is April 28th, when the perfectly named Toronto FC take on Kansas City. I will be there in my element. However, something has thrown a wrench into my plans for a summer of football fun; all the affordable season tickets are gone. I should have jumped on it and bought them when they 1st went on sale, but I missed the boat. I went to go online today to give my friend I was getting them with the info and all the $400 tickets are gone. If I want to become a Club Member now, the cheapest I can do it for is $800. I can’t do it. So I’m absolutely gutted. I know it’s only football and there is always next year, but I am gutted. I’ll still be there. I’ll wait in line for tickets for the 1st game, I don’t care, but I’m worried that tickets are going to be impossible to get. Out of 20,000 available, 11,500 are already sold to season ticketholders. Season ticketholders get to watch the reserve team play anytime they want, get access to the international friendlies and more goodies. Booo.
Aside from my lack of soccer tickets, things are good. My eye is better and I got an A on my speech writing assignment. I’m finished paying off my trip to Ireland. Sandra wants me to plan another with her, but I think I’d better hold off on that. There is a ten day break between semesters but it’s probably a bit smarter to hold on to my money for when I’m doing my internship at the end of the summer. Perhaps I’ll be able to go back for a week or two after that (if I line myself up with a job first).
Much more to yap about but I must get ready for work.
hey Lindsay – tell Bill there is another Ariel 3 poster on greenie’s ebay store. thx.
Boo, on the lack of tix for you. I can’t find any TFC swag ‘cept some crappy jewellery (!?!) on the MLS site.
