Practice was ok tonight. I think we’re doing too good of a job and sending too many people to Scooters. It was really busy, and I’m not comfortable practicing trickier stuff with a million people on the rink. Plus, I’m still just getting comfortable on my skates again after hurting myself. I think I’m doing quite well though, so that’s nice.
Some of my roller derby team just got back from Austin, TX, and had such a great time they’re talking about going back in June. If I can afford it, I’m going to go too. If any one of us should be going, it’s me anyway! I have friends there, and I still have stuff stored there I’d like to pick up. I don’t think they realize how deadly hot it’s going to be there in June. When I first moved there, I was sick for a week from the heat. I grew to love it, but it was insane at first. I’d get all flushed and lightheaded just walking to the store.
I leave for England in exactly one month. Part of me’s wondering why I’m even going. I’m excited, and it is going to be wonderful, but really, really weird all at the same time. I’m going to a desolate crossroad in the middle of nowhere in Ireland that I used to spend time with my father at, but I’ll be carrying his ashes in a box instead of going to visit. See? That’s gonna be weird.
PS: I found another wicked music website. Last FM is an online community that reccomends music and plays you personal radio. It’s hella cool.
