I know that the right wing fundamentalists of America would rather we believed all they say without asking questions, but someone just sent me this link and I am fuming about it.
Refusing to allow geologists the right to release scientific information about the Grand Canyon, one of North America’s most magical and mystical places, is utterly ridiculous and cruel. No wonder so many American teenagers are growing up with such a skewed view of reality.
“In order to avoid offending religious fundamentalists, our National Park Service is under orders to suspend its belief in geology,†stated PEER Executive Director Jeff Ruch. “It is disconcerting that the official position of a national park as to the geologic age of the Grand Canyon is ‘no comment’.”
Seriously. Read this. As an opponent to organized religion of any sort, and especially the sort that hides scientific, provable information about the planet I live on, I would be interested to know other people’s views on this.
I believe God made this planet less than 10,000 years ago. I would never agree with hiding anything to defend this. There was a beginning, no matter how ya look at it.
You asked…. don’t hate me now.

oh deez, i’d never hate anybody for what they believe. i just refuse to even consider something that has never, will never, and cannot be proven without a doubt. and i think it is terrible to refuse people access to research. information is important, and it should not be within the power os religious beaurocrats to withold it .
I agree. But there are many things that cannot be proven that still exist. We aren’t all-knowledgable.
I didn’t get a chance to read the stuff you posted yet. My stupid bowling machine parts came in and 2 coils don’t fit! Maybe I need a break.
