The Old Mill

Before the buttons on my pants burst and I fall into bed stuffed full of duck and wine, I would just like to say that the Old Mill restaurant is a must. The atmosphere is fantastic, the food wonderful and the service great.

My appetizer: Hazelnut & Quinoa Crusted Goat’s Milk Cheese, Pear Chutney, Niagara Seedlings, Black Currant-Ontario Cider Vinaigrette

My entree: Crisp Succulent Confit of Duck, Braised French-Lentils, Red & Yellow Carrots, Black Currant-Wine Reduction

My dessert: Peach & Raspberry Crumble, Spiced Vanilla Gelato, Fresh Mint

I am: one happy camper

The best part of the whole experience (except maybe the duck – I love duck) was that I had no idea that the dining room encompasses a ballroom and live band. It’s dinner and dancing with a different theme each week. I was lucky enough to encounter the theme of “TV Themes Gone Jazz.” It was amazing. We were by far the youngest people there, and there were all these adorable older couples dancing. I hope when I’m their age I have someone who still wants to dance with me. Lovely.

Sounds like a great experience! I should make a point of going there for the next winterlicious (or summerlicious, if they’re offering it).
