Just before Christmas, we lost our dog Dozer to cancer, along with several other ailments that come along with being an old dog. Not quite ready to commit for another lifetime yet, I’ve decided to foster a needy dog for a wonderful rescue that I know. It’s still a big decision though.
Even though we wouldn’t be a forever home, fostering is just as big a decision as adopting. We need the right dog to fit in with our lifestyle, just as the dog needs to trust and enjoy being around us. Today we drove out to Erin, to the Dawg Dayz Inn kennel, where Joey has been living since June. He’s a lovely dog and we hit it off quite well. There is some concern that he’s too hyper for our lifestyle, as we are used to a very lazy, elderly American Bulldog. I am leaning towards inviting him to live with us, but as it’s not just my decision I have some thinking to do first. Take a look at these photos and tell me he isn’t a cutie pie!
Of course, what Joey needs more than anything is a forever home. While we are contemplating being his temporary solution, if you can open your heart to an energetic, sweet soul, please consider meeting Joey. You can check out his Petfinder profile here.
