Whoopee! Honda for me!

So I finally got a Honda Cub! It’s a 1968 (I think) C102 little 50cc, and I’m SO excited. It needs a TON of work, but I’m actually willing to put some money into this one since I got it for next to nothing and I’ve always wanted one. I also got a Torrot moped which is a real cool looking little bike that also needs work, but nowhere near as much as the Honda. Of course, I always bite off more that I can chew, so the Honda is going to be my real winter project. I’m super, super excited about it. Oh, and I got a Jawa moped as well from someone else that I forgot to tell everyone about! I’ll get photos of the other two later, but for now, meet my new little Honda!

Lindsay, STOP BUYING MOPEDS.Concentrate on the Cub.Nice find. Get an idea of how much it will cost to do it over before you get started. Remember, labour is expensive and hours add up.

OH OH OH OH ! Great Find! Welcome to the four stroke world! I was looking for one for some time, like i said good find.
Not much mechanically goes wrong with these motors. They typically just need to be looked after, since they don’t usually fail, people neglect them …
As long as its mostly there, I say go for it, get it restored. Get the frame dipped (they strip the paint one shot in a weird bath which eats paint without any damage to the metal ask me about this:) Then get her painted, take the motor apart (I can help ya with that fo-sho), clean replace anything which is in need, redo the electrical, simple sysetm trust me, do something about that seat … and you’re done! An investment you’ll enjoy for many years to come. If the motor runs right, these things do not die. Let me know if you need help! I got lots of sources etc …

Thanks Stan! I’m going to stop buying mopeds for a while because I really want to put everything I can into this Honda. I’m totally going to need a LOT of help with it, but I don’t mind putting $$ into this one. It’s in terrible shape but can definitely be fixed up nicely.
