A sign?

Before I started work last night I was outside talking to a friend about those internships abroad that I’ve been thinking about. Then I went in to start work, but as I was standing alone thinking about the Mongolian opportunity I posted about yesterday, I saw a piece of crumpled up paper on the floor of the bar. Obviously, my first thought was, “maybe it’s money.” So I picked it up and unfolded it. It was money. MONGOLIAN MONEY. What are the freaking chances of that? It was a 20 Tugrik note, worth approximately $0.20 Canadian dollars. Now I’m much more of a believer in coincidence than signs, but this one takes the cake. I have now decided. Sometime in the next few years, I am going to go to experience life in Ulaanbaatar and work as a journalist for the Ulaanbaatar Post or the English language radio station for a month or two.
Practice with the Chicks today was amazing. We have three new girls on the team and they are all incredible. I have been jamming a lot at practice lately and have been enjoying it, although I keep taking nasty falls. That’s ok though; it’s all part of the game. I am uber proud of myself today because I took out Creepella, one of our very best players, without using my hands. I will be one unhappy camper tomorrow though, as I am already feeling stiff and bruised. These are the signs of a great practice!

I am now going to lie in my warm, comfortable bed and finish the book Your Mouth Is Lovely. It is a slightly misleading title – the story is about a political prisoner in Siberia – but so far it’s very good, and I highly reccomend it. I am not going to watch the Oscars, but I would like to wake up and hear that Dame Judi Dench won the award for her frighteningly good portrayal of a bitter old woman in denial as Barbara Covett in Notes On A Scandal.
