It’s my brothers birthday tomorrow so I’m going out for dinner today with him and my mom. They live in Burlington and it just happens to be the 1st ever Hamilton Rollergirls bout today! Hopefully I can make it to the bout in time. If I don’t, there’s always the afterparty which is at the Corktown Tavern. I used to go to the Corktown all the time when I lived in Hamilton, I love it. It’s a super dive punk rock pub, it’s awesome. Most of my team is driving down to the bout, I’m catching a ride to my moms place with them. Hopefully I’ll make it to either the bout or the after party. I’d like to make it to both, but it’s doubtful.
Had a surprise visitor last night. I was getting ready to go to work when Alexis from the Detroit moped gang called and said she was in town. Finished work at 1:30, hauled ass to the Bovine for last call and ended up drinking Sparks in the back alley behind the Mod Club. It was lots of fun and I can’t wait to hit one of the Moped Army rallies.
Noticed that you’re into roller derby which is pretty sweet.
My roommate is getting involved in the Edmonton league as soon as she gets back from vacation.
As for the drinking of sparks in an alley, can’t say that’s there’s a better way to drink it
Cheers to the Sparks. Hope it was good for you. I was hammered beyond hammered, but mostly it was the good Canadian beer at that point… like the mystery black swill from Ciao Edie’s. I’m sorry that I don’t remember more from meeting up in the alleyway. Afterwards I vaguely remember Scott & I caught a cab and threw two open beers in my purse which mostly spilled out. I’ll be back in town again soon enough. Hope the bout went well.
