Wow! What a day. Today was the 3rd annual Bell City Chase, a sort of one day mini Amazing Race. I’ve been signed up with my friend Tara for weeks and I wasn’t going to let that stupid woman who hit me with her car ruin it. So I’ve been resting and resting since the accident, and today we entered the race!
It was really hard on my legs, but it was totally worth it. It was amazing fun. I got to fence, lawn bowl, play blindfolded croquet, and do all kinds of neat-o stuff. You had to complete 10 of the 20 or so tasks set up all over the city and return to the starting point within six hours. We thought for a while there that we weren’t going to be able to finish, but thanks to my brilliant lawn bowling and Tara’s mastering of setting up a tent in five minutes we made it. We finished with half an hour to spare. All in all we came in 250th place out of 412 teams, so we’re really super proud of ourselves. Especially since it’s two weeks to the day since I got hit by the car, and Tara’s just getting over being sick and has an injured knee and shoulder from roller derby. So we rule.
When I got home I laid on the couch for a while and now my entire body in in incredible amounts of pain. I know I shouldn’t really have attempted this with my leg like this but I wanted to do it so bad,and I’m glad I did.
And now……………since it’s like, you know, 10 pm on a Saturday night, I’m going to bed!
Lawn Bowling Lindsay!
I love it. I have a set of bowls, myself. Just wish we had a better place around here to play it.
